BAM Construction Limited and Shoreland Projects Limited have been fined after a worker installing a lamp post at a new railway operating centre in Basingstoke made contact with an 11kV overhead power line which resulted in life-changing injuries, according to the HSE.

It's not just buried services that endanger people, working near overhead hazards also needs to be planned.

GEOTEC Surveys Limited also carry out detailed topographical surveys providing information relating to overhead lines (OHL) to assist clients in the design of projects, allowing them to design the risk out of the construction.
