GEOTEC are delighted that 3 projects, where Underground Mapping & Topographical Surveys were completed by our team, are nominated for the 2019 BREEAM Awards.
The awards take place on Monday 4th March 2019 and recognise the achievement of those involved in the specification, design, construction and management of BREEAM certified buildings.

The projects that GEOTEC supported relate to:
- A buried services, GPR & topographical survey at 1 Queen Anne's Gate in Westminster in preparation for the demolition, new build and retention of a grade II listed façade to deliver luxury apartments.
The survey took place within the nearside footways and into the middle of each road surrounding 1 Queen Anne's Gate including Dartmouth Street and Carteret Street. Parking suspensions and our own Traffic Management measures were utilised in order to complete these works safely and thoroughly. We also investigated the basements and coal cellars in order to map their extents as part of the design processes.
- A buried services & GPR survey at The Hoover Building, on the A40, prior to the conversion to residential use after a decade of sitting dormant.
GEOTEC Surveys completed an underground mapping survey for buried services and overlaid results onto a topographical survey provided to us by the client. This related to an area stretching across the front of the Hoover Building, including the existing Tesco store. In addition, the nearside footway was also included.
- Desktop Utility Study for the UCLH Proton Beam Project, whereby we obtained and collated the statutory records relating to buried services onto a combined drawing to assist with the early design phase.
This relates to a state of the art cancer and surgical care facility involving a highly complex construction, which is partly underground & realised one of London's deepest excavations.
This demonstrates that Underground Mapping, GPR and Topographical Surveys are key in supporting flagship projects such as this.
